Teens! Are you looking for something to do in the evenings? Come hang out at the Douglas Public Library on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights after hours from 6:30 — 8:30 p.m. for the whole month of July!

On Tuesday nights we will feature the popular video game Guitar Hero, Legends of Rock III, on the Library’s Nintendo Wii. Wednesday nights will be movie nights with pizza, soda, and popcorn. On Thursday nights come and play again with the Library’s Wii and test your skills at MarioKart, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers, and more! Don’t forget to sign up for the reading program — an iPod will be awarded at the end of the month to the top reader AND the top Guitar Hero player who reads at least 300 pages!

The teen summer reading program is open to all teenagers ages 13-19. All teens are invited to come and play games and watch movies but prizes will only be awarded to those who participate in the reading portion of the summer reading program. The library loves books, of course, but do you read magazines? The lyrics of your favorite songs? What about newspapers, anime, or even bedtime stories to your younger brothers or sisters? Come and ask us about the reading requirements! For more information on the Teen Summer Reading Program please contact the Douglas Public Library, located at 560 10th Street, at 364-3851.
