Elks statewide membership drive

Published/Last Modified on Friday, June 27, 2008 3:08 PM MDT

The Arizona Elks Association (AEA) is kicking off its first ever Statewide Membership Drive July 1st. The drive will continue until November 30th.

Arizona has grown its membership from 30,068 in 2005 to over 30,800 members in 49 Lodges in 2008. It is one of the fastest growing States in the Country in Elk membership. Nationally there are approximately 1 million members in almost 2200 Lodges.

The reason for our membership Drive is to increase our membership so that we can do even more with our Charitable work. The Elks are proud of their causes which include our Youth Program, Athletic Program, Patriotic Program, Community Programs, Drug Awareness Programs, the Steele Children’s Research Center and our Youth Camp.

To be eligible for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a Citizen of the United States, over the Age of 21 and believe in God.

If anyone is interested and would like to find out the procedure to be an Elk they should call the Exalted Ruler Richard Ross or Secretary Merrill Burk of the Douglas Elks Lodge at 520-364-5132.
