Douglas fire fighters responded to the burning building at about 10:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found the building engulfed in flames, said Mario Novoa, Fire Chief for the Douglas Fire Department.
Police evacuated the Coronado Courts of its residents just east of the burning building, Novoa said.
According to the preliminary investigation, some kerosene was spilled, causing a kerosene pressure washer to catch fire. The owner of the tire service quickly called the fire department. There were no injuries, Novoa said.
On Sunday, at about 12:22 p.m., the fire department responded to a natural gas leak at 1007 3rd Street, Novoa said.
According to Novoa, a man had hammered a stake into the ground and hit a gas line. Southwest Gas arrived and soon capped the leak.
Later that evening, at about 8:09 p.m., the fire department responded to a burning car 10th Street. The front bumper and headlight had caught fire. Fire fighters quickly contained the fire, Novoa said.
