The Arizona Department of Commerce and City of Douglas partnered in attracting Advanced Call Center Technologies LLC to the City.  The company is expected to become the area’s largest private employer in the next few years, employing nearly 700 residents.

The project will benefit from a $275,000 Economic Strength Project grant awarded to the City of Douglas for the widening and reconstruction of a six road intersection, as well as the widening of San Antonio Avenue and Florida Avenue. This will accommodate dedicated turning lanes to ease  traffic in and around Advance Call Center Technologies’ permanent location.

“This project will be good for the local community, and bring new jobs to southern Arizona,” said Jan Lesher, Director of the Arizona Department of Commerce. “Douglas is a great location for Advanced Call Center Technologies, offering a quality workforce to meet business needs and local support to make it a success.”

Advance Call Center Technologies will operate out of temporary city-owned offices until its permanent facility is ready at the end of the year.

" This call center is costing the state and the city millions of dollars between grants and freebies. Will the city really see that huge of benefits from this company. What guarantee does Douglas have that this company will stick around to benefit the community? Other companies have had to spend the money for road upgrades out of thier own pockets. What is so special here? "
