Do you know where to find books on Spongebob or Secret Codes?

Librarian Victoria Yarbrough holds several popular books that are being sold at the Scholastic Book Fair at the Douglas Public Library.

Go to the Douglas Public Library, where more than 500 books for adults, teens and children can be bought at the Scholastic Book Fair.

The fair will be held from July 7th through the 14, said librarian Victoria Yarbrough.

The fair has attracted many Douglas teens who continue to read throughout the summer. Readers can find books in English and Spanish with a variety of titles.

Software is also on sale that features titles such as I Spy and Charlotte’s Web.

For those who are getting ready for school, the staff at the book fair has pencils, pens, erasers and other school items for sale. Posters and other fun items are also available.

Yarbrough said the book fair is a fundraiser for the library. The money raised will be used to buy more library material.

Summer is a great time for reading, especially for young children and teens.  Studies have shown that students who read during the summer have an easier time adjusting to the school curriculum the following school year.
