Border Patrol Agents from the Tucson Sector arrested three sexual predators and one burglar over the weekend.

On Friday July 11, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Naco Station arrested a male subject identified as Galdino Venegas Dominguez from Zacatecas, Mexico, near Hereford, Arizona, at approximately 11:30 p.m.  While being processed Venegas’ fingerprints were entered into the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) revealing that Venegas was convicted in Denver, Colorado, on Sexual Assault of a Child and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

On Saturday, Ricardo Reyes Gutierrez was arrested by Tucson Station agents near the Sasabe Port of Entry.  IAFIS records revealed that the Mexican national was convicted of Sexual Battery and Felony Disseminating Obscenity in North Carolina, for which he was sentenced to six months in prison.

Also on Saturday, agents from the Naco Border Patrol Station arrested Luis Vega Aguirre, a citizen of Mexico.  IAFIS records revealed that Vega was arrested in 2003 for Burglary of a Vehicle and Convicted to 75 days confinement.  Vega was also arrested in 2001, for a Probation Violation and July 2007, for Possession of Marijuana.

On Sunday, Douglas Agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico identified as Edgar Flores Moreno.  IAFIS records revealed that Flores was convicted of the Felony Rape of an underage female.

All four illegal aliens are being held in Border Patrol custody pending removal proceedings.

Criminal backgrounds discovered using IAFIS have led to the identity of over 38, 000 cases of prior criminal convictions of illegal aliens apprehended between October 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008 in the Tucson Sector.

" These criminals are the reason that the Border Patrol is so important. For ever hard working immigrant who is just looking for a better life, there are twice as many rapists, drug smugglers, and even murders! Border Patrol Agents risk their lives daily to protect each of us. We should thank them DAILY or SOON WE WILL ALL BE LEARNING SPANISH!!!!!! "

" This article title is reoccurring mistake. U.S. Border Patrol Agents do not work at the Douglas Port. Either way great job to those agents. Keep up the good work! "
