Cochise County Farm Bureau meets Sat.

Published/Last Modified on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 6:47 PM MDT

The Cochise County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Elks Lodge, 247 E. Stewart Street in Willcox.

Every year in September, the Cochise County Farm Bureau invites members to discuss issues and concerns that impact agriculture in Cochise County. Every farmer and rancher has a voice and has the opportunity to speak to the group about their concerns, elect leaders and vote on policies for the new year.

Cochise County Farm Bureau will be recognizing Mr. Claire Owen with the Heritage Award. Senators Gus and Marsha Arzberger will be recognized for their service to agriculture.  In addition, Arizona Farm Bureau President Kevin Rogers will be speaking.

Jim Graham, a farmer and President of the Cochise County Farm Bureau, stated “All Farm Bureau agricultural members in Cochise County are invited to our annual meeting. This is a great opportunity for the people in Cochise County who are out there growing Arizona’s food to voice their concerns and to learn more about the many benefits of Farm Bureau. We are a grassroots organization and we welcome new members.”

Please RSVP for dinner to Cathy Collins at: (520) 507-1710 or dpcollins2@msn.com
