More great classes at Cochise College

The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a new series of short-term, non-credit classes to connect the Cochise County community with valuable lifelong learning. Take an educational trip, earn a Red Cross certification, or learn about a new hobby.


Reflexology. Discover how a focus on the feet can promote healing and balance throughout the body. Class will meet September 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Campus, Room 313. The fee is $34.

Thai Cooking. Learn the techniques and become familiar with the fresh herbs, spices, and ingredients that make Thai food tasty and nutritious. Class meets September 6 from 10 to 1:30 p.m. at the SVUMC, Fort Huachuca Kitchen. The fee is $45.

Red Cross – CPR for Professional Rescuer. Learn to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, administer two-rescuer CPR, and use a resuscitation mask and bag valve-mask. This class offers a one-year CPR/AED Professional Rescuer Certification. Class meets Sept. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Campus, Room 313. The fee is $75.

Knitting the Basics and Beyond. Learn to knit basics or learn more complicated knitting techniques. Class meets Mondays, Sept. 8 – 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Campus, Room 313. The fee is $52.  

Fundamentals of Photography. This hands-on class will explore basic principles, including composition, lighting, style and perspective, adjusting shooting to situational constraints, exposure and timing. Course meets Sept. 9 – Oct. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Campus, Room 313. The fee is $69.

Chiricahua National Monument: Echo Canyon Hike & Faraway Ranch. Visit Masai Point and learn about the local geology and ecology before hiking the three-mile Echo Canyon Loop trail. Then, visit the Faraway Ranch to learn more about the human imprint. The expedition begins at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 13. The class fee is $30.

Red Cross Standard First Aid with CPR/AED – Adult, Child & Infant. This class combines the instruction of three classes: First Aid, Adult CPR/AED, and Infant and Child CPR. All course skill cards and certifications are offered. Class will meet Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Campus, Room 313. The fee is $65.

Grand Canyon and Northern Arizona. Visit one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World on this three-day trip to explore the natural and cultural history of the Colorado Plateau from Sept. 26-28. The fee of $270 includes a two-night stay in Flagstaff, all attraction entrance fees, and a picnic lunch at the Grand Canyon.
