According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of August 11, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County dropped from $3.94 to $3.79 over the two-week period.

Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices decreased from $3.96 to $3.81 during the two-week period.
In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased from $4.05 to $3.95. In Bisbee, the price decreased during the two-week period from $3.94 to $3.84. The price in Douglas dropped from $3.76 to $3.62 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price declined from $4.03 to $3.87 per gallon. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased from $3.92 to $3.83. In Tombstone, the price went down during the two-week period from $3.92 to $3.82 per gallon. Willcox saw gas prices drop drastically from $3.82 to $3.64 per gallon during the two-week period.
One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.77, which is $1.04 lower than its current price.
At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.67, which is $1.10 lower than the current price per gallon.
At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.81, which is 98 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
