FORT HUACHUCA — The University of Arizona football team arrived at Fort Huachuca Wednesday to begin a four-day camp at Arizona’s largest military installation.

Team practice, which is open to the public, begins at 8 a.m. at the artificial turf field adjacent to Eiffler Fitness Center. The first of two Thursday practices ends at 10:15 a.m. The Wildcats will return to the field that evening for a second practice from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
On Friday, the Wildcats will have a single practice from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and that afternoon at 2 p.m., they will take part in a situational obstacle course, where they will learn about problem solving and endurance the same way soldiers do.
Friday night Lt. Col. Ted Martens, deputy commanding officer for the 111th Military Intelligence Brigade will speak to players about his recent experiences in Iraq, leadership and unit cohesion at a dinner at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Visitors to the Thursday and Friday practice sessions can obtain a visitors pass for the installation by stopping at the Visitors’ Center and showing their driver’s license, vehicle registration and current proof of insurance.
On Saturday, the Wildcats will venture to Loveless Stadium at Buena High School for an intrasquad scrimmage scheduled to start at 9 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the scrimmage.
The final stop on the Wildcats’ visit will be the University of Arizona Team Football Meeting Saturday night at 5:30 at the TMAC, where head coach Mike Stoops and assistant coaches Sonny Dykes and Mark Stoops will speak to the audience about the coming season.
