On Oct. 1 the Snowbirds will present one of the most amazing shows over the skies of Douglas. Using their own jets, they will perform a series of aerobatics stunts that resemble nothing short of white fireworks.
In some instances only eight feet separate the jets wing to wing as they perform, said Robin Brekhus, who is hosting a fundraiser for the show.
The fundraiser will be on Aug. 23 at the Gadsden Hotel. Several Sysco Gourmet Chefs from Phoenix will be cooking dinner. The menu will include steak, lobster and jumbo prawns, Brekhus said.
The money raised at the event will help buy fuel, smoke oil, oxygen, tow vehicles, hangar space and food and lodging for the 24 pilots and support crew, she said. About $25,000 is needed to support the show.
Tickets will be $50 per person. Kevin Alvarado and Hannah Hurtado will provide the music.
Wine and cheese will begin at 6p.m.; dinner from 7p.m. to 8p.m.; music from 8p.m. to 10p.m.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will fly to Douglas and keep their jets at the Douglas Municipal Airport, she said.

As far as I'm concerened Robyn can do whatever she wants with HER Time and efforts. Why is she the only one doing public events in this town?
Who else puts on events in this town? "
