100 pies to choose from at Portal festival

The Fourth Annual Portal Rescue Pie Festival will be held on Saturday, August 30 from noon to 2:00 NM (11:00 - 1:00 AZ) time. at the Rodeo Community Center.

Already promised are luscious Key Lime Pie, tangy Lemon Meringue, Coconut Cream, Raisin, varieties of ever-beloved Apple, including Strudel, and many other tempting kinds. For a complete meal, have some quiche, pizza or savory Spinach-Feta Pie.

Fortunately, you don’t have to choose just one kind. At $2 a slice, indulge, and add ice cream for a dollar. You may even buy whole ones to take home for $12, an easy way to have your Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie in the freezer.

Portal Rescue, an all volunteer organization, serves the Rodeo-Portal area for emergency medical needs. We get very little outside funding. Maintaining EMS and Fire fighting vehicles is costly, as is equipment and ongoing training. Your support and donations are some of the best investments you can make.
