English, Dever win nomination

Despite the fact a number of nominations for county offices were being decided on Tuesday, the county could only muster 19.81 percent voter turnout.


In Supervisory District 2, Ann English easily defeated Charles Flanagan and Joe Green for the Democratic nomination.


English received a total of 1,416 votes compared to Flanagan’s 882 and Green’s 246.


English will face Republican Harvey Allen in the November general election.


Incumbent Sheriff Larry Dever easily defeated Republican opponent Bill Cloud 4,797 to 2,122 to take the nomination. He will face Democratic challenger Norm Bradley.


Democratic incumbent Ann Littrell won her race for Judge, Superior Court Division 4. She defeated challenger Mark Suagee 3,673 to 2,056. She will face Republican John Kelliher, who defeated Roger Contreras 4,250 to 1,794.
