Gas prices dropping countywide

According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of August 25, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County dropped from $3.79 to $3.67 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price decreased from $3.77 to $3.63 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices decreased from $3.81 to $3.69 during the two-week period.


One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.75, which is 94 cents lower than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.61, which is $1.02 lower than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.76, which is 91 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
