At the annual meeting of the League of Arizona Cities held in Phoenix, August 19 - 21, City Manager Curtis Shook organized a caucus of the four Mayors of the Arizona Border Cities. This was the first occasion that all four Mayors met. After learning from GSA that more Federal dollars are being spent in California and Texas port of entries, the Mayors decided to form an alliance. They Arizona Mayors will lobby for more federal dollars for infrastructure to increase rapid flow of transportation of vehicles as well as pedestrian traffic. Also attending from the City of Douglas was Mayor ProTemp Bob Fernandez, Councilman Louie Acedo and Ivan Huish and Councilwoman Margaret Morales.
