On Wednesday, about 4:10 a.m., police responded to a call regarding two males who had entered a home and stolen some property from a woman, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.
According to Gonzalez, a 40-year-old woman at 1131 4th Street was robbed at knifepoint. The suspect was later identified as Blythe.
Blythe had entered the home through the front door. He held a knife in his left hand and wore some brass knuckles in his right hand, Gonzalez said.
Blythe tore a silver chain medallion from the woman’s neck. He also took from a coffee table a make-up bag that contained some of the victim’s legal documents.
He and the other suspect left the home on foot and headed toward an unknown direction, Gonzalez said.
Police were actively searching for Blythe because he is a known drug user, has violent tendencies, and is considered armed and dangerous, Gonzalez said.
Blythe was arrested three days later at about 1:30 p.m. at Bay Acres, he said.
