The energetic young members of the Cochise County Youth Orchestra will take the stage at Veteran’s Memorial Park Bandshell in Sierra Vista to entertain the crowd with a lunchtime performance of fiddle tunes during the 4th Annual Sierra Vista Fiddle Contest.

The robust sound of the 28 member “strings-only” orchestra will bring new life to some traditional tunes such as “Poor Wayfaring Stranger” and “Tying Knots in the Devil’s Tail,” as well as Spade Cooley’s arrangement of “Swinging the Devil’s Dream.”
A number of CCYO members will compete in youth divisions of the contest, beginning at 10 a.m. After the CCYO’s performance, the contest continues after lunch with a performance by the fiddling Rubio Family from El Paso, TX, followed by Young Adult and Adult Divisions, Guitar Accompaniment, Twin Fiddle, Trick & Fancy Fiddle, and the Break Your Fiddle Competition
