PHOENIX (AP) - A former Chandler Sunday school teacher has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in the sexual molestation of at least five young children who were in his care.

Sixty-three-year-old Terence Greenwood pleaded guilty to five counts involving the sexual molestation of young children.

Prosecutors say the abuses occurred during church services at Chandler United Methodist Church and at Greenwood’s home.

Greenwood was originally arrested in December for molesting a 5-year-old girl but authorities said another underage victim came forward in April and Greenwood was given additional charges of child molestation. In all, five victims were found.

Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas says the sentence prevents Greenwood from harming young children for the rest of his life.
