Douglas police responded to shots fired early Sunday morning.

A 25-year-old male who had been delivering the newspaper at about 2a.m. told police he heard a gunshot coming from a white, late model sedan with chrome wheels, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

The incident occurred at the 2000 block of 10th Street.

The man said the sedan followed him. Later, when he arrived at his home, he heard the gunfire, Gonzalez said.

A witness nearby concurred with the man’s statement.

Police were unable to find any shell casings or damage caused by gunfire.  Police were also unable to locate the white sedan, Gonzalez said.

The police are continuing with their investigation.
