BISBEE — Starting this week and continuing through late October, residents in Cochise County may be receiving a phone call asking for their feedback on county government.

“This is the first time a citizen survey has been conducted to gauge what the public thinks of county services,” said Karla Jensen, the county’s public information officer. “As we enter a new decade, the county is continuing to grow and move in new directions. In order to ensure that we are providing the right services to accommodate this movement, we need the residents’ feedback.”
The phone survey will be conducted by the Cochise College Center for Economic Research. Approximately 400 county residents, chosen at random to reflect a statistically representative profile of the county, will be asked a variety of questions to assess knowledge and use of county programs and services.
The results of this survey will play a role in future efforts in strategic type planning, budget recommendations and marketing communications.
“We can’t operate in a vacuum,” Jensen said. “This is one opportunity for residents to let us know what is important. It’s just one tool, but we will provide other opportunities in the coming months for residents tell us what they need and how we are doing as an agency.”
Copies of the report will be available and posted on the county’s Web site most likely in late December. If survey participants have any questions or concerns about this survey, contact Jensen by e-mail at kjensen@cochise.az.gov or call 432-9200.
