BISBEE — The Cochise County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a solar power study session from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, 1415 Melody Lane, Building G.

Session presenters will include:
• Bill Mundell, member of the Arizona Corporation Commission, to present a slide show on the state’s solar resources, demand and the Corporation Commission’s renewable energy portfolio requirements for public utilities
• Toni Bouchard of Arizona Power Service to present her slide show on the Solana Concentrated Solar Power Plant project near Gila Bend
• Bruce Plenk, the solar coordinator for the city of Tucson, to talk about “solar ready” regulations and permitting procedures.
• A solar power plant developer with Acciona Solar Power to talk about location criteria for 250-megawatt-size power plants
• And John Wesley Miller, developer of the Armory del Sol in Tucson, an energy-efficient residential development, to discuss permitting needs for residential-scale solar facilities. For information, call Susanna Montana, the county planning manager, at 432-9240.
