" We should want THE BEST teacher for our children, regardless of where they are from! What good is it to hire "local" if they aren't the best prepared for the job! Instead of complaining, maybe everyone needs to be more involved in the schools with volunteering time, etc... "

" Bravo!----we need to take our schools back----there is no brain freeze in Cochise County---lets starting hiring local people that know and understand our community needs!!! "

" Anyone who has concerns or questions about the schools and/or administrators in the DUSD district should go talk to the superintendent Mr. Pettit. I'm not so sure how far one would get though because he doesn't seem interested in our community and the unique culture we have here in Douglas. If any administrator needs to be scrutinized it's him. His irrational decisions make me believe that he's only trying to do what he did in White River, AZ and get paid a full contract for minimal time on the job. "

" Why does our DUSD board open up issues with the Douglas Dispatch but will not give us a follow up on the outcome? E.G. George Watkins Why don't they have the paper write an article when they are wrong? "

" Why are we hiring people out of state. can they get a job were they live. Whats wrong with hiring locals they know the area. Its these dam people from out of state that don't know crap about education. The children are the ones who suffer from mistakes made by administrators. its like the said before one hen in the henhouse "
