The Cochise College Center for Lifelong Learning is now accepting registrations for a three-part class in grant writing.

Jay Lane will lead a series of one-day grant writing classes that begins Tuesday, Oct. 14 with Grant Writing I: The Basics. Designed for the novice who seeks to assist non-profit organizations to find grant opportunities and write effective applications, the workshop format is activity-based, using current grants and grant reviewer simulations to discover the qualities of an award-winning grant. The class meets from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 313 on the Sierra Vista Campus.

Grant Writing II: Putting the Application Together will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28. Attendees should have grant writing experience or have completed the introductory course. Participants will actively participate in completing a currently open grant application.

Participants in Grant Writing III, which meets from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, will examine award-winning grants and review actual grants to gain more advanced experience in multi-sourcing projects, developing a comprehensive budget, leveraging resources, developing timelines, measuring objectives and benchmarks, and establishing credibility and financial management capacity. Students will also learn to streamline data collection, personalize proposals and submit applications electronically.

Registration for each of the courses, which meet in Room 313 at the Sierra Vista Campus, is $76. For more information or to register, call (520) 515-5492. Anyone needing an accommodation in order to attend should contact the Disability Services Office, (520) 515-5337 or (520) 417-4023, at least 72 hours in advance.
