4-H Youth Development News

From 1902 to 2008, 4-H has been providing youth with positive opportunities to develop life skills. With nearly 7 million youth actively involved, 4-H is the largest youth organization in the nation.

In the beginning, 4-H met the needs of youth by providing agricultural information that assisted with crop production as well as the preservation of food to last through long winters. Today, 4-H projects still meet the needs of youth, but through public speaking, computer technology, rocketry, welding, woodworking, fitness, biotechnology, and more.

The 2008 Cochise County Fair was a great success with 4-H and FFA Exhibits displayed by over 150 4-H & FFA youth members. Below are the Champion and Reserve award winners from the 4-H Building and Dog competition. Congratulations to all participants and many thanks to the numerous volunteers and donors who helped to make it a great year.
