The school opened on time this morning.
The student was pulled in to the Ray Borane Middle School offices for suspicion of drugs when he made his threat.
The school was immediately closed to all personnel, and Superintendent Earl Petit issued the following statement:
”Due to a possible environmental hazard which developed over the weekend within the building at the Ray Borane Campus, I am directing the temporary closure of the building for Monday only.
“There was a potentially hazardous yet unknown material present in the office area late Friday. It is my decision to close the building pending determination of what the material was and I expect analysis to be completed sometime Monday. I further expect all to return on Tuesday and hope to have the needed information by tomorrow afternoon.”
“We will continue to provide a safe learning environment for our students as well as a safe work environment for our staff and I apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause.”
