A Range Livestock Nutrition workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 12th, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Benson Campus, Cochise College.

This workshop will focus on the changing beef industry and options for Arizona beef producers. Topics to be covered include: a global look at the changing beef industry, updates on animal health, an overview of rangeland types and how that relates to nutritional profiling of Arizona range cattle, reading feed labels, the difference between supplementation and maintenance feeding, and managing input costs.

Dr. Mark Peterson with New Mexico State University will give an overview and update on current research findings of cost effective supplementation.

For an agenda and registration information, please contact Kim McReynolds or Almeda Kennedy, UA Cooperative Extension (520-384-3594) or email kimm@cals.arizona.edu.

A workshop fee of $20 includes lunch and handouts. The pre-registration deadline is November 5th to ensure that there are enough lunches and handouts for everyone.
