College to host
international film series

The Cochise College Art Department announces its 2008-2009 International Film Series, which features a new movie each month in November, January, February, March and April. Films will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursdays in Room 900 on the Sierra Vista Campus and at 7 p.m. Fridays at the Central School Project, 43 Lowell Ave., Bisbee. Screenings are free and open to the public. The films include:


• The Road to Guantanamo – Thursday, Nov.  20 and Friday, Nov. 21. This true story - part documentary, part drama  – tells of four British Muslim boys who go to Pakistan for a wedding  and find themselves in Cuba, where they are tortured, interrogated, and  held without charge for three years. Rated R, 95 minutes.

• The Visitor – Thursday, Jan.  22 and Friday, Jan. 23. A professor’s passion for life is rekindled  when he returns from a conference to find his girlfriend living in his  apartment with another man. Rated PG-13, 108 minutes, 2008.

• Caramel – Thursday, Feb.  26 and Friday, Feb. 27. This Lebanese film follows the lives and loves of  five women whose paths cross in a Beirut beauty parlor. Rated PG, 95  minutes, 2008.

• Innocent Voices – Thursday, March  26 and Friday, March 27. An 11-year-old in 1980s El Salvador becomes the  head of his household when his father abandons the family at the start of  the Civil War. Rated R, 120 minutes, 2007.

• Death at a Funeral – Thursday, April  16 and Friday, April 18. Chaos ensues when an unexpected visitor causes a  British funeral to spiral out of control. Rated R, 90 minutes, 2007.
