Early Learning Center News Briefs

This month our color is Brown and the shape is Square. On Tuesday, November 11 No School Veteran’s Day.


We also have our parent conferences on Wednesday, 12th, And on Thursday, 13th, No School these days.

If your child is between the ages of 3 years to kindergarten age and you have concerns regarding their development or performance in one or more of the following areas: vision and hearing, motor control/coordination, behavior/social skills, speech/language skills or thinking/performing tasks, please contact the Special Service Office @ 364-2447 x7101 to schedule an appointment for a Child Find Screening. Screenings are conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis depending on need and are held at the Early Learning Center. Our next Child Find Screening will be Friday, November 7th.

For children kindergarten age through 21 years, please contact your local school and ask to speak with your child’s teacher and/or the special education teacher regarding your concerns.

 Ms. M Hernandez and Ms. Alma – 4 years old

We started with the color brown and the new shape square.  We made a mouse out of the shapes that we have already done; square, circle, and triangle.  We also played a game that we created called shapes and numbers.  And we read the ten little monkeys, focusing on the numbers 1-10.

Ms. Minerva and Mr. Jesus – 4 years old

On Monday- we talked about the new shape of the month square and the color brown.

On Tuesday- students made feathers out of their hands and decorated them for a turkey.

On Wednesday- students made a square collage using brown cut outs.

On Thursday- students will paint stamp the letters G, H, I with the color brown.

Ms. Susie and Ms. Dalila – 4 years old

This week we will start by introducing the new month (November), Shape (Square), Letters (G,H,I), Color (Brown) and Numbers (4,5).

Monday - We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?"  Our activity was to sponge paint our G, H, I letters with brown tempra paint.

Tuesday - We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?" (With a Felt Board) the activity was for each student to pick the character that they liked the most and make them out of paper plates, and tempra paint.

Wednesday - We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?" We had picture day today and Ms. Jody came in to do High Hat!  She introduced a new friend which is  Oh No Oboe!  Our students love  when High Hat comes to visit our classroom!!

Thursday -  We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see!  Our activity was to start our "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?" Book.  We have homework today!!

Friday - We start our home visits today!!

Have a great weekend!!!  And a friendly reminder we will also be have our parent conferences Wednesday and Thursday so there will be no school for our students.

Ms. Diana and Ms. Elena – 4 years old

This week we are learning about Food and Nutrition. Children will learn about the different groups that form the food pyramid  The Grain group, the Vegetable and Fruit groups, the Milk and Meat and the Fat and Sweet groups.

Children will make a collage made of foods form the Food Pyramid. They will decorate their collage with smashed froot loops cereal, colored spaghetti, colored rice and colored pasta.
