SIERRA VISTA —  Incumbent Marsha Bonham had a clear victory Tuesday in the Cochise County Treasurer election, according to unofficial results.

Bonham, a Democrat, had about 22,283 votes, more than 56 percent of total votes.

Her Republican challenger, Regina “Jean” Pace, received about 43 percent of the total votes.

“I’m very pleased and appreciative,” Bonham said.

She thanked her supporters, friends and fellow workers.

“It’s nice that they have approved me to work with them for another four years. … I look forward to continuing the work that we’ve been doing.”

Bonham has served as county treasurer since 1980.

The incumbent’s goals for office include support of an imaging system, additional reporting options and improvements to the county treasurer Web page, as well as providing a Web-based tax payment process at a lower cost.
