Impact fees main items in Wed. meet

Impact fees and waste disposal fees were discussed at Wednesday’s Douglas City Council meeting. News of the meeting will not be published until Saturday, Nov. 15 in that the meeting ended after the newspaper’s deadline.


Ordinance 08-923 relates to impacts fees on new development to offset the cost associated with public services to a development.

Ordinance 08-946 establishes new fees for solid waste disposal.

    " With all these increases to compensate for the city's never ending poor business decisions, are we as employees next on the chopping block? Is there really a difference between the city and Douglas High School, when it comes to management? Budget? Why are we paying the high cost of a worthless medical insurance? Oh yeah, it's called taxation without representation...... "
