Brenda Hernandez, left, is sworn in by Nancy S. Hertel, manager of U.S. Post Office operations in Tucson, as the new postmaster in Pirtleville. Hernandez has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years, including stops in Hereford, Tombstone, Douglas, Bisbee and Naco post offices. In Naco, she was a PMR for 15 years. In May 2005 she was hired at the Douglas Post Office and worked there as a clerk. Hernandez and her husband, Jose, have been married for 22 years and have three children - Jose (Tucson), Joel (Phoenix) and Anthony (Naco) - and two grandchildren, Alesandra and Anthony. Her hobbies are jogging, making flower arrangements, gardening and cooking. More than 25 were at the ceremony.
