Published/Last Modified on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 5:14 PM MST

The presentation, “Emergency Preparedness for You and Your Family,” will be given on  Wednesday morning, November 19, at the Douglas Area Food Bank located at 660 G Avenue (at the corner of 7th Street), beginning at 9:30.

Marilyn Godfrey, representing the Cochise County Health Department, will share many easy ways that families can be self-sufficient for at least a few days during a disaster or emergency.

The presentation begins at 9:30 a.m., lasts about one hour, and is open to the public free of charge.  Topics to be covered include making an individual plan and creating a 72-hour survival kit, as well as ways to become well-informed and involved in community awareness.

“When it is time to make a decision, the time for preparation is past,” she said.  “Our motto is Preparation Prevents Panic, “and we want Cochise County to BE READY.”
