DLL board meeting Wednesday

The Douglas Little League Board of Directors will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at J.J.’s Grill on 3rd Street and G Ave.

The board will meet with the public to inform them about what’s happened so far with the league and listen to any comments or suggestions they may have.

Anyone interested in getting involved needs to be at the meeting.

Little League coaches sought for the upcoming season

Douglas Little League President Bruce Whetten has announced he is now accepting applications for anyone interested in coaching in the Douglas Little League this year.

Volunteer applications can be picked up from him at Backdrop Photo, 1009 G. Ave. between the hours of 10-5 Monday through Friday.

Whetten says due to national Little League rules anyone involved with any of the youth this year must be cleared through a national background check that is done by a company working with the DLL.

The screening process is more stringent this year Whetten says and last minute candidates could be turned away because of the new restrictions.

Anyone with questions may call 364-2460.
