SIERRA VISTA — Expect some delays as work begins to construct medians on Highway 92, north and south of Buffalo Soldier Trail.

Lane closures and turn restrictions are expected over the next three weeks, according to the city of Sierra Vista.

Two-way traffic should flow throughout construction, but drivers may want to consider some alternative routes to avoid waits, said Alan Humphrey, a city engineer.

To the south of Buffalo Soldier Trail, drivers can take East Katchina Trail or Canyon de Flores to St. Andrews Drive to Buffalo Soldier Trail and continue north on St. Andrews Drive to Highway 92 to bypass the area of construction.

Drivers should be aware that the speed limits are lower on those roads and range between about 25 and 35 mph, he said.

“Drivers are asked to slow down, pay attention, and help protect themselves and the construction crews. As always, the Department of Public Works appreciates the public’s cooperation and patience,” according to a news release from the city.

Information and updates will be broadcast on radio station 1610 AM.

For questions or concerns about the construction project, contact Alan Humphrey at 458-5775.
