If your child is between the ages of 3 years to kindergarten age and you have concerns regarding their development or performance in one or more of the following areas: vision and hearing, motor control/coordination, behavior/social skills, speech/language skills or thinking/performing tasks, please contact the Special Service Office @ 364-2447 x7101 to schedule an appointment for a Child Find Screening. Screenings are conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis depending on need and are held at the Early Learning Center. Our next Child Find Screening will be Friday, January 5th 2009

For children kindergarten age through 21 years, please contact your local school and ask to speak with your child’s teacher and/or the special education teacher regarding your concerns.

Ms. M Hernandez and Ms. Alma – 4 years old

We made a train project focusing on the shapes; squares and circles.  We searched for squares around the classroom; we worked with kids and parents making our gingerbread house and holiday tree.  We finished the winter project that in included things that we see during the holiday season.

Ms. Minerva and Mr. Jesus – 4 years old

Monday- Students decorated an ornament with glitter for our class bulletin  board Christmas tree.  Practice Christmas songs for caroling (Monday –Thursday)

Tuesday- Students made a reindeer made out of candy canes and other art supplies.

Wednesday- Students decorated an ornament with their pictures to take home for their Christmas tree.

Thursday- Students made a gingerbread house with their parents. They used a variety of candies to make them.

Ms. Susie and Ms. Dalila – 4 years old

All this week we will be talking about “Winter”.

Monday - We read the book “The Mitten” our activity was to have the students put together a mitten with yarn by sowing it with the yarn and ask them what they did during winter time.

Tuesday - We talked about what kind of clothing we wear during winter time. Our activity was to make winter beanies.

Wednesday - We read the book “Frosty the Snowman” and our activity was to make our own snowman out of shaving cream with glue.  Students glued different kinds of accessories to their own snowmen.  Sarah Marley Choir came to perform.  Ms. Jody did High Hat and introduced a new friend which was I Spy.

Thursday - We will be doing Gingerbread Houses.  Parents were invited to come and join the fun. We will have homework!!

Friday - No School!!  Have a great weekend!!!

Ms. Diana and Ms. Elena – 4 years old

This week we are learning about snowflakes and the children will make one using borax and hot water. First they will make the shape of a star with white pipe cleaners and then put it in the solution. We will also make a paper snowflake using coffee filters, cutting designs and decorating it with glitter. We will also learn more about winter and the weather changes. What cloths we wear. What sports we play celebrations, holidays, etc.

We will be doing the -High Hat- “Tiger Tom” in all the classrooms.
