With nationwide dialogue dominating the headlines about public works as an economic stimulus, weighing in on the state’s transportation future is more important, and easier, than ever.

In November 2008, community workshops were held statewide inviting local communities to review and comment on possible future transportation ideas. Citizens appreciated the opportunity to be part of the study and provided ADOT with valuable feedback that will be used to develop a plan for the future.
ADOT has developed the online workshops to extend the opportunity for individuals to weigh in on the study, providing the same information that was presented at the community workshops conveniently, easily, and available at any time. ADOT welcomes input from communities across Arizona. Online participation will be available at least through the end of January 2009.
ADOT began the Statewide Transportation Planning Study in early 2008 to focus on a long-range vision of transportation needs in Arizona. This study is also known as “Building a Quality Arizona” and focuses on transportation needs through the year 2050. The study is composed of four Regional Framework Studies: Northern, Western, Central, and Eastern Arizona. Each Regional Framework Study looks at ways to plan for growth, understand community development and economic patterns, and be prepared for future transportation needs. All four Regional Framework Studies are available for online participation.
