BISBEE — An illegal immigrant charged in connection with a string of three break-ins in Cochise County entered into plea agreements Friday that carry a total sentence of 15 to 20 years in prison.

Yerco Vedobch-Arrvayo, 19, pleaded guilty to 12 crimes he committed in homes in Willcox, Pearce and Elfrida on Dec. 5 and 6, 2007.

The defendant and accomplices originally entered the homes in search of food. However, they ended up taking items, such as guns. And they restrained a woman in the Pearce home by tying her up.

In terms of the Willcox incident, Vedobch-Arrvayo pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree burglary, three counts of theft of guns and one count of criminal damage for breaking a window.

For the Pearce incident, he pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful entry with intent to commit theft while possessing a rifle, one count of armed robbery, two counts of robbery and one count of kidnapping.

Regarding the Elfrida incident, he pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful entry with intent to commit theft while possessing a rifle and one count of theft of three guns.

Cochise County Superior Court Judge Wallace Hoggatt accepted the plea deals associated with the Pearce and Elfrida break-ins. He will accept the Willcox plea deal pending notification to the victims.

The plea agreements stipulate that he will be sentenced to not less than 15 years and not more than 20 years in prison.

Hoggatt scheduled a sentencing hearing for Jan. 9.

Two other illegal immigrants, Alejandrino Lara-Silva and Natalio Valenzuela-Valdez, were involved in all three break-ins. Their cases are still pending, and they are scheduled to appear in court this month.

A fourth illegal immigrant, Alberto Jimenez-Garcia, was only involved in the Willcox incident. He entered into a plea deal and was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison in July.
