‘Crossing the Line’ authors in Douglas Tues.

Classmates Doloris Huerta Lloyd and Sharon McCracken Heston have published a history of their families and of the mystery surrounding their grandfathers. It is a tale that extends from Spain to Cuba and the Mexican border during revolutionary days of Pancho Villa all the way to a homestead near Grants Pass.


A twelve-year search took the authors to Alamos, Mexico; Douglas, Arizona; Galicia, Spain; and London, Kentucky and uncovered a dynamite story of murder, political intrigue and revolution.

The reception will be hosted by the Douglas Visitor Center on December 16th at 345  16th Street from 5 to 7 p.m..

The granddaughters of Manuel Huerta and Robert Shipman invite you to join them to celebrate the completion of their book. Manuel Huerta was kidnapped from Douglas and hung in Agua Prieta 90 years ago on December 16th and Robert Shipman was a cavalryman stationed in the area at that time. Theirs is a story that had to be told.
