Early Learning Center News Briefs

If your child is between the ages of 3 years to kindergarten age and you have concerns regarding their development or performance in one or more of the following areas: vision and hearing, motor control/coordination, behavior/social skills, speech/language skills or thinking/performing tasks, please contact the Early Learning Center Office @ 364-2447 ex 5000 or 364-8473 to schedule an appointment for a Child Find Screening. Screenings are conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis depending on need; and are held here at the Early Learning Center.  Our next Child Find Screening will be Friday, January, 9th.  


For children kindergarten age through 21 years, please contact your local school and ask to speak with your child’s teacher and/or the special education teacher regarding your concerns.

Ms. M Hernandez and Ms. Alma – 4 years old

We started with the color Blue, letters M, N, O, and numbers 1-12. We are learning to use the clock and the rectangle shape.  We talked about sea life and read the story “Hellow Ocean”. We made a mural painting focusing on sea life.

Ms. Minerva & Mr. Jesus – 4 year old

Monday – Review materials

Tuesday – Students made snowmen using their hands with paint.

Wednesday – Students made winter trees using paint, sand, and cotton for snow.

Thursday – Students made snowman using shaving cream to put up on bulletin boards.

Ms. Diana & Ms. Elena – 4 year old

This week we are learning about “Winter Animals” where they live, what they eat,  different kinds, special features, what animal group they belong to, etc. This week we are talking about Penguins and Polar Bears.  Children will make a clay penguin and paint it with orange, black and white.  They will also make a marshmallow bear, using different sizes of marshmallows, m & m and  other candy.

They also learned to draw a penguin step by step using different shapes.

We will be doing the – High Hat – “Itchy Itch” in all the classrooms.
