Douglas man arrested for shooting man on thigh

Douglas police arrested a Douglas man Dec. 14 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangerment.

Jerry Del Rio, 31, of Douglas, was arrested for shooting a 22-year-old male on the right thigh, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center in Tucson for treatment.

Gonzalez said that as police continued their investigation, details of that investigation lead them to 1545  _ 11th Street, where Del Rio was arrested.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a class 3 felony, and endangerment, a class 6 felony.

The weapon was seized as evidence and Del Rio was transported to the Cochise County Jail, where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.
