Three remain in jail after arrest on charges including attempted murder Two juveniles and an adult remain in custody after being charged in a beating of a fourth individual. On December 5, 2008 at approximately 11:15 pm, the Cochise County Sheriffs Office was advised of a fight in progress involving sticks and bats in the 3000 block of Hawthorn Avenue in Douglas. One 17-year-old male juvenile was airlifted to a Tucson hospital for treatment of injuries to his head and face area. As a result of the investigation, three were arrested over a four-day period and charged with multiple charges to include Attempted Murder (aggravated assault), Conspiracy, and Threatening. Those charged are: Sergio Barrios, 18, of Douglas was booked into the Cochise County Jail on Monday December 8, 2208 on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (3 counts) Assault (3 counts) Threatening , Conspiracy, Attempted Murder in the First Degree Jose Luis Arvizu, 17, of Douglas was booked in the Cochise County Jail as an adult on December 9, 2008 on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (4 counts), Assault (4 counts) Threatening, Conspiracy, Attempted Murder in the first Degree Victor Andres Duarte, 16, of Douglas was booked in the Cochise County Jail as an adult on December 8, 2008 on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (4 counts), Assault (4 counts) Threatening, Conspiracy, Attempted Murder in the first Degree. All three remain in the Cochise County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. The victim has been released from the hospital and is continuing to receive medical treatment. The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriffs Office and additional arrests are pending.
