Couple report being kidnapped; taken to Douglas

On Friday December 26, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible kidnapping that had occurred between San Simon and Douglas.

The victims, a 63-year-old male and 58-year-old female both of San Simon, advised that they were at the Methodist Church in San Simon when they were approached by two Hispanic male subjects asking for a ride to Douglas.  The victims advised that they were not going to Douglas; however, they could give them a ride to the 4K truck stop in San Simon.

The subjects got into the victims car and once enroute to the truck stop, one of the subjects advised that he was going to throw up and the driver pulled to the side of the roadway.  Once stopped one of the male subjects got out of the vehicle, opened the driver’s door and pushed the female driver out of the way.  A struggle ensued and the female was bitten on the ankle by the male subject as she attempted to kick him out of the vehicle.  The male subject was reportedly able to gain control of the vehicle and drove south to Douglas without further incident.

Upon arriving in Douglas the male subject stopped near the international border where both Hispanic males exited the vehicle and walked south into Mexico.  The male subjects were described as:

√ First subject being 30-35 years of age, 6 feet tall, medium complexion, short curly hair, sideburns, and a beard, no clothing description available.

√ Second subject being in his mid 20’s, approximately 5’8”, no further information or clothing description.

This case remains under investigation by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
