Douglas Police arrested a Douglas man and one juvenile in connection with misconduct with a firearm in two separate but related incidents.

Police responded to a shots fired call at the 2000 block of 10th St.  Police were informed by the caller that a tan or brown sport utility vehicle had pulled up in front of the residence and pointed a gun at two residents, then fired one shot from the gun into the air, said Marcus Gonzalez, the spokesman for the Douglas Police Department

Shortly thereafter, police located a vehicle matching the description and were able to tie the driver and vehicle to the incident.  Upon further investigation, police determined that a separate incident, in which four shots were fired from a handgun, had previously taken place at the 1300 block of Estrella Avenue involving the same individuals.

Further investigation lead police to arrest Albert Galindo (27) for misconduct involving weapons and endangerment.

Police also arrested a local male juvenile for drive-by-shooting, misconduct involving weapons, and endangerment.

The juvenile’s name was not released because of his juvenile status.

Police located the weapons used in the incidents, along with several other weapons, and placed them into evidence.

Police discovered that the incidents were gang-related due to the words and hand gestures exchanged by the persons involved during the incidents.  Both Galindo and the juvenile were transported to detention, where they await arraignment.
