Portal Rescue Soup Kitchen begins Monday, February 9

The 13th annual Portal Rescue Soup Kitchen Fund-raiser will be held next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (February 9, 10, and 11) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Portal Rescue Classroom in Portal. The $7.00 meal includes two savory soups, two delectable breads, a dessert, and a beverage. All proceeds go to Portal Rescue, the area’s volunteer fire and rescue service.


Fabulous prizes will be raffled at this event. This year they include a print of Montezuma Quail by Bill Davis, an original watercolor of Winter in Cave Creek Canyon by Marge Fagan, a print of the Myrtle Kraft Library in Portal by Bob Waldmire, a print of a Barred Owl by Dave Utterback, a pair of prints of a Crested Caracara and Juniper Hairstreak Butterfly by Narca Moore-Craig, a print of a Lady in the Window by Roger McKasson, a carving of a Magnificent Hummingbird by Bill Reinbold, a therapeutic massage by Danielle Darnell, a pair of Audubon Family 8X10 Binoculars, a pair of Audubon Vector 10X42 Binoculars, a $50.00 gift certificate from Rodeo Natural Market, a necklace of beads and silver charms by Chris Rogers, a snake catcher, $100 worth of Arizona Scratch Lottery tickets, and a cat or dog examination and vaccination by Dr. Michael John. You also have a chance to win a “Let’s Eat Out” prize that includes breakfast for two at the Rodeo Cafe, lunch for two at the Portal Store, and dinner for two at the Rodeo Tavern (6 meals). Tickets are available at the door for only $1.00 each. The drawing will take place on Wednesday, February 11th, at 1:00 p.m. You need not be present to win.
