Josephine R. Thomas, born Josephine Rose Boyer, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away January 19, 2009.


Josephine was born to Napoleon and Charlotte Frances Boyer, in Douglas, Arizona, December 24, 1931.

She is survived by her husband Luther Thomas, sons Randall and David Thomas, grandsons David and Christopher Thomas, sister Dorthy and her husband Norman Wilson. She is preceded in death by her parents along with her siblings; Lorraine, Alfred, Eugene, Louise, Joseph, Walter, Douglas, and Georgean.

Josephine grew up in Douglas, graduated from Douglas High School in 1950 and later moved to Denver, Colorado, where she met Luther Thomas, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, they married June 27, 1952 and spent the next 56 plus years together. In February of 1970 her husband retired from the Air Force and they returned to Douglas where they stayed until moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1976.

A Memorial will be held February 21, 2009, 11:00am at St. Luke’s Hall in Douglas, Arizona.
