The Douglas Bulldogs celebrate after winning the 4A Division II state championship Saturday in Tempe. The Bulldogs defeated the Cortez Colts 1-0 winning their second state championship in the last four years. Senior Tony Lopez, who was a member of the first state championship team, had the lone goal of the match coming with four minutes left in the first half. The Bulldogs played inspired soccer from the start determined not to lose. Look for more on the state championship on Page A7.
