The stove the family was using for heating a room because too hot, and caught the interior of a wall on fire. The insulation on the inside of the wall began to smolder, causing the smoke. The stove was only a few inches away from the wall, and an electrical outlet was nearby, which may have helped the smoldering fire catch.
The firemen had to chop into the wall to find the hot spot to get it extinguished.
The fire was under control almost immediately, but it took a while to locate the source of most of the heat.
The home is now without heat and fire department officials were looking for a dwelling for the family to use until repairs could be completed.
