SIERRA VISTA — A burned human body was found next to a blazing pickup truck on Ramsey Road on Monday, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 1:22 p.m., firefighters from Fry District and sheriff’s deputies responded to a pickup truck fire at the east end of Ramsey Road.

When firefighters and deputies arrived at the scene, in the 4000 block of Ramsey Road, they found a newer-model Ford Ranger extended cab pickup truck on fire, emitting a series of small explosions. As firefighters approached the vehicle, they discovered a burned body outside the driver’s door.

“A female was the vehicle’s possible driver, burned beyond recognition,” said Fry Fire District Chief Bill Miller.

Authorities were still at the scene conducting an initial investigation. “We don’t know anything else at this point,” Miller said.

If anyone has information about the fire, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 432-9500.
