Average countywide gas price unchanged According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of March 23, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County stayed the same at $1.98 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price went down from $1.98 to $1.94 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices increased from $1.94 to $1.96 during the two-week period. In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline increased from $2.05 to $2.07. In Bisbee, the price dropped slightly during the two-week period from $2.04 to $2.03 per gallon. The price in Douglas decreased from $1.96 to $1.95 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price went down from $2.05 to $1.98 per gallon. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline increased from $1.91 to $1.93. In Tombstone, the price increased during the two-week period from $1.96 to $2.00 per gallon. Willcox saw gas prices go up from $1.95 to $2.00 per gallon during the two-week period. One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.26, which is $1.30 higher than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.24, which is $1.30 higher than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.31, which is $1.33 higher than the price from the most recent survey.
