According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted during the week of March 23, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County stayed the same at $1.98 over the two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price went down from $1.98 to $1.94 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices increased from $1.94 to $1.96 during the two-week period.

One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $3.26, which is $1.30 higher than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $3.24, which is $1.30 higher than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $3.31, which is $1.33 higher than the price from the most recent survey.
